GreenScreen Revive™ fabric - Mermet launches the ultimate in sustainable window covering fabrics

Produced in the USA from recycled plastic bottles, GreenScreen Revive™ screen fabric is the latest innovation from Mermet – making the environment, and our business, a little greener.

100% recyclable, GreenScreen Revive™ is a 100% Polyester warp knit fabric, made up of 89% recycled content using Repreve yarn.  Repreve is a fibre that contains recycled materials, including used plastic PET bottles. Repreve is used by a number of manufacturers across a range of industries, including Ford Motor Company (which uses Repreve in cloth seats for selected models) and clothing brands like The North Face, Polartec and Patagonia.

GreenScreen Revive™ fabric is available in 3 metre width, in 1% or 5% openness factors. By warp knitting instead of weaving, we are able to produce the fabric using less yarn and with a faster process, which means reduced energy use and less waste in the production process.

In the USA GreenScreen Revive™ fabric has been Cradle-to-Cradle Certified for its material content, recyclability, and manufacturing characteristics. The fabric is made of PVC-free polyester and contains a minimum of 89% Repreve fibres. Each metre of GreenScreen Revive™ fabric uses 12 post-consumer bottles. GreenScreen Revive™ fabric is also Greenguard certified for low VOCs, has excellent solar control capabilities, reduces glare and reflects light, while allowing clean outward visibility.

With the introduction of GreenScreen Revive™ fabric Mermet now offers the most sustainable window covering fabric on the market in 3 metre width, setting new standards for the Australian industry.
